Δε βάζουμε το κορν φλάουρ πριν το γάλα γιατί δε θα γίνει σωστή η ομογενοποίηση. Μόλις βράσει το μείγμα της κατσαρόλας, το προσθέτουμε σε δόσεις με μία κουτάλα στο μπολ. Ανακατεύουμε συνεχώς με το σύρμα. Μόλις ρίξουμε όλο το μείγμα στο μπολ, το επιστρέφουμε στην κατσαρόλα και αρχίζουμε να ανακατεύουμε συνεχώς μέχρι να σφίξει η κρέμα μας. Βγάζουμε από τη φωτιά και δοκιμάζουμε.  Δεν πρέπει να νιώθουμε γεύση από αλεύρι. Προσθέτουμε το βούτυρο σε κομματάκια και ανακατεύουμε μέχρι να λιώσουν. Αδειάζουμε την κρέμα σε ένα μπολ και τα σκεπάζουμε με μία μεμβράνη φροντίζοντας να ακουμπάει πάνω στην κρέμα. Βάζουμε στο ψυγείο για 2-3 ώρες μέχρι να κρυώσει πολύ καλά. Προθερμαίνουμε τον φούρνο στους 190 C στον αέρα. Απλώνουμε τις σφολιάτες μας στην επιφάνεια εργασίας και πασπαλίζουμε με ζάχαρη άχνη από τη μία πλευρά, έτσι ώστε να καραμελώσει όταν την ψήσουμε και να μην απορροφήσει υγρασία από την κρέμα μας. Πατάμε με έναν πλάστη ελαφρά τη ζάχαρη μέχρι να μπει στα φύλλα και με ένα πιρούνι κάνουμε τρύπες στη σφολιάτα μας. Η κάθε σφολιάτα θέλουμε να βγάλει 12 κομμάτια, έτσι κόβουμε στη μέση και από τις δύο πλευρές, και μετά στα 3. Στρώνουμε λαδόκολα σε 2 ταψιά και βάζουμε τις σφολιάτες με την πλευρά που πασπαλίσαμε προς τα κάτω. Πασπαλίζουμε με λίγη άχνη ακόμα και από την άλλη πλευρά και ψήνουμε για 15-20 λεπτά. Όταν είναι έτοιμες, αφαιρούμε από τον φούρνο και αφήνουμε στην άκρη. Σε ένα μίξερ χτυπάμε με το σύρμα την παγωμένη κρέμα γάλακτος μέχρι να αφρατέψει και να γίνει σαντιγί, πρέπει να έχει σύσταση στραγγιστού γιαουρτιού. Μόλις είναι έτοιμη και η κρέμα, την χτυπάμε λίγο στο μίξερ με το σύρμα για 20 μόνο δευτερόλεπτα! Ρίχνουμε τη σαντιγί μας στην κρέμα και ανακατεύουμε με μία μαρίζ ίσα - ίσα να αναμειχθούν. Μοιράζουμε την κρέμα μας σε 2 κορνέ. Για τη συναρμολόγηση Παίρνουμε το ένα κορνέ και βάζουμε λίγη κρέμα σε ένα ξύλο κοπής για να κολλήσει το γλυκό μας. Τοποθετούμε τις 6 σφολιάτες μας και απλώνουμε από πάνω με κρέμα. Επαναλαμβάνουμε τη διαδικασία μέχρι να κάνουμε 3 στρώσεις απο σφολιάτα και κρέμα. Με ένα κουτάλι φροντίζουμε να καλύψουμε το γλυκό μας με όλη την κρέμα. Βάζουμε όση σφολιάτα έχει μείνει σε ένα μπολ (6 κομμάτια) τη θρυμματίζουμε, τη ρίχνουμε από πάνω και από πλάγια για να πάει παντού και πασπαλίζουμε με ζάχαρη άχνη. Κόβουμε σε κομμάτια και σερβίρουμε.

Especially because we're just over 100 years away from it now. This movie really captured a lot of what I was looking for, like the absolute obscenity of the trenches and the bodies filling the shell holes and the absurd amounts of shelling that actually went on. It also showed that in that time the Germans really did have a better army that was more equipped and highly trained. The cinematography was amazing as well and the beauty of the destruction contrasted with the beauty of the natural landscape. Just amazing.
